DOWNLOAD: “So Far Around The Bend” – The National (mp3)

We knew that any show in support of this record, would of course, be an all-star show, here’s what the lineup looks like so far:

Dark Was The Night Live at Radio City Music Hall: May 3, 2009
Dave Sitek
Dirty Projectors
Feist
My Brightest Diamond
The National
Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings
Plus more TBA in the coming weeks

Tickets go on American Express and Internet presale (Password: OKSANA or HEDARK) starting March 11, 2009 at 9:00 AM through Friday, March 13, 2009 9:00 AM. Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting Friday, March 13 at 11am via Ticketmaster.

Rumors also abound that Grizzly Bear and David Byrne are on the bill, but apparently those performers are not yet confirmed. (If I had the inclination, I’d go through the 31 song track list and see who absolutely couldn’t make it due to tour commitments, but I just got off a flight, and posting this just is all I’ve got.)

Last but not least, in other DWTN news:

This week also sees the release of several videos directed by groundbreaking filmmaker Vincent Moon. Moon shot the Dark Was the Night contributors The National, Dirty Projectors and Yeasayer each performing their song from the compilation in early February. These clips will roll out, one a day starting tomorrow, March 10, premiering on premiering on Pitchfork and Pitchfork.tv.
